This film, which is being directed by Imtiaz Ali, is Saif Ali Khan's own home production movie. Surprisingly, this movie has Deepika Padukone playing the lead role instead of Saif's girlfriend Kareena Kapoor whom Imtiaz Ali had given a huge hit in the form of "Jab We Met". According to sources, Kareena Kapoor was very keen to work with Imtiaz Ali again in this film, but the director chose Deepika instead.
